We review prevailing wind, the area that must stay clear, access for the crew and the route from Regina. The 4 ft mesh is secured to T-posts with wood slats and ties. Post spacing is up to 8 ft, with a 6 in gap beneath the mesh for effective drift control.

What is the wood slat?
It is a narrow 1 × 2 wood strip placed vertically in front of the mesh at each T-post. The mesh is sandwiched between the wood and the flat side of the steel post. Locking ties wrap around the three parts at roughly 1 ft intervals.
