Weather & Project Delay Policy

Options and responsibilities when weather, materials, logistics, staffing or site conditions delay installation.

Why delays occur

Fence work is affected by weather, ground conditions, seasonal access, labour availability, supplier shortages, transportation, equipment issues, permit or locate delays and unexpected conditions on an active worksite. Suggested dates are planning targets unless the signed agreement states otherwise.

Available options

When a project cannot proceed as planned, Derkson will communicate the updated status and the practical options.

  • Convert the job to a supply-only package, apply the deposit and invoice the remaining material and delivery balance.
  • Move the installation to the next available suitable date, which may be in the next Saskatchewan installation season.
  • Revise the scope where both parties approve the change in writing.

Seasonal readiness

A site is considered ready when snow and standing water are cleared, ground and access conditions are safe, the fence line is marked and required locates and customer responsibilities are complete. Deposits continue to secure allocated materials unless the written agreement provides otherwise.
