Fence Installation Readiness Checklist
What must be ready before a Derkson installation crew arrives, including access, fence-line marking, locates and permits.
Before the installation date
The project area must be ready and safe before the crew arrives. Contact Derkson as early as possible if access, permits, locates, grading, materials or the agreed fence line are not ready.
- Confirm the installation address, contact person and access instructions.
- Clearly mark ends, corners, changes in direction and gate openings.
- Remove vehicles, stored items, vegetation and debris from the work area.
- Keep children and pets away from the active work zone.
Property, permits and utilities
The customer confirms the property boundary and obtains required permits or surveys unless the signed scope expressly includes them. Public utility locates and all private facilities must be completed and visible before work starts.
- Identify irrigation, wells, septic systems, private power, lighting, drainage, gas or water lines.
- Advise Derkson about easements, retaining structures and restricted-access areas.
- Do not remove locate paint or flags until the work is complete.
Access and ground conditions
Provide clear equipment access and a reasonably level, unobstructed fence line. Snow, standing water, unsafe slopes, concealed concrete, roots, rock or other unusual conditions can delay work or change the cost under the signed terms.
